An
editor ensures that the story flows smoothly from
start to finish, by assembling a series of shots
and scenes into a finished film. He/She needs
a keen sense of timing, essential in story-telling,
as well as audience anticipation. An editor should
have control over space and time.
Students are trained in the entire editing process,
right up to the final cut; including sound mixing
and creating a continuous sequence out of random,
individual shots. Students will learn online &
offline editing, multi-camera edit and digital
editing, along with the aesthetics of editing.
Familiarisation with dialogues, cuts, montage
and other complex forms is carried out; ending
with the customary show reel of the student's
work. |
